Universities 2.0: Advancing Global Health in the Post-MDG Era

More than ever, there is a need to guide the future of global health through action. The complexity of today’s global health challenges requires harnessing the skills and energies of many disciplines in developing innovative and effective solutions. As the global health community, it is our duty to determine how best to guide our collective efforts as well as those from the unprecedented rise of new professionals now graduating from global health programs. The message is clear: it is time for greater Innovation and greater focus on Implementation with an eye towards a positive and long-lasting Impact on health outcomes.

Join us in May 2014, for a meeting bringing together over 1,000 members from a variety of sectors and disciplines to examine the cutting edge issues in several areas:

  • Innovations and interventions to improve health conditions
  • Global justice and governance: Human Rights, legal issues, ethics, and policy
  • Interactions and interconnectedness of government policy on health outcomes
  • Partnerships and capacity-building for education and research in global health
  • Role of the private sector: Embrace, engage, avoiding conflicts of interest
  • Determinants of culture change in education of practice
  • Training the global health workforce
  • Technology: Advancements, set-backs, implications and outcomes
